EDUCATION & LEARNING
From Dec 2016 until Dec 2022 our small team worked to develop and innovate survivor-centric programs and training opportunities for hospitality, arts and general workplaces across Turtle Island. Since closing the Dandelion we have decided to make our safer spaces education and tools accessible to all people through this free learning portal. This portal should not replace training but is an offering of information, knowledge and tools. Please do not replicate but please feel free to reference the author(s). You can also visit our Referral section in the portal where you will find a list of vetted facilitators that could work with you and your team online or in person, including the program developer and lead facilitator Viktoria Belle.

We believe in the power of education as a catalyst to prevent gender-based violence in our communities. We also believe in the power of skill-building and survivor-centric policy for workplaces to prevent and respond to gender-based violence. From Vancouver to Thunder Bay we have provided over 2000 participants with Safer Spaces Training which includes: 25 Arts Collectives and Live Music Venues and over 65 bars and restaurants all over Turtle Island. You will find a combination of templates, evidence-based research, perspective and knowledge from predominantly women and women of colour. You will also find data and hyperlinks to engaging activities that you can use with your teams or at home. There are all different perspectives and voices throughout the learning and we encourage you to connect with us if you feel we can add or amend any information. This portal will stay online until 2024 and is not monitored or updated.
