Workplace GBV: Activity 3

Anti-Harassment Lead (AHL) Scenario and Reflection Sheet

This is an activity page to help you reflect on your approaches before you take on this role. Here is a scenario to work through and then use this page to track your reflections and learning.

Example Scenario

Dani comes to you to let you know that her co-worker, an employee named Richard, has been sexually harassing her and others at work. She doesn’t want to make a “big deal” but she wants Richard to be talked to and fired if he doesn’t stop.

Step one: Check in with yourself, make sure your face, body and voice are empathetic and sincere .

Step two: Follow the 6 pillars of survivor-centric practice. Start with acknowledgment: I believe you.

Step three: Use the disclosures activity script that is found on this portal or that you created yourself.

Step four: Ask the survivor if they want to make a disclosure or report.

Step five: Follow your policy and begin documentation with their consent.

We are not providing samples or templates for workplace disclosure and investigation policies and practices as we understand and we hope you do as well, that these processes and approaches are not one-size-fits-all.

If you require policy analysis, consultation and development please consider finding a professional in your area or visit our referrals section to engage with an expert in your area.

We want to offer you templates we have used in the past with clients, community and within programming. These are reflection and evaluation templates to help you understand where you may need more support or resources.
